Pricing Cleaning Add-Ons: Ovens, Fridges, Windows, Baseboards, Cabinets, Laundry and Linens

Add-ons are the small jobs that turn a good cleaning company into a profitable one, or quietly drain it. Cleaning inside an oven takes real time. So does wiping out a fridge, washing interior windows or scrubbing baseboards by hand. When those tasks are priced and listed, they pay. When a team does them as a favor because nobody wrote them down, they cost you.

Why Add-Ons Need Their Own Prices

Post-construction jobs, covered in Quoting Post-Construction Cleaning Jobs, bundle a lot of detail work into one price. Regular residential cleans work better the other way: a clear base clean, with extras listed one by one.

Listing add-ons separately does three things. The customer sees what they are paying for. The team sees exactly what extra work is on the job. And the invoice matches the work, so nobody argues about whether the fridge was supposed to be done.

Common Add-Ons and How to Price Them

Price each add-on from the time it takes your team plus supplies. Example prices one company might use:

These are illustrations, not market rates. Other add-ons worth considering are blinds, dishes, and walls & doors.

One-Time or Every Visit?

Decide whether an add-on applies to one visit or every visit. A customer might want the inside of the oven done on the first visit only, or every third visit. Others want linens changed every time.

Be explicit on the estimate: “Inside Oven, first visit only” or “Change Linens, every visit.” That one phrase prevents most add-on disputes. For seasonal add-ons, like interior windows each spring, add them to that visit when it comes up rather than leaving them on every visit.

Add-Ons in MaidBossPro

In MaidBossPro, add-ons live on your service list with their prices, so they go on the estimate as their own lines. They are also part of the cleaning details on the job. The extras list includes Inside Oven, Inside Fridge, Interior Windows, Baseboards, Inside Cabinets, Blinds, Laundry, Change Linens, Dishes, and Walls & Doors.

When the customer approves the estimate, the extras carry onto the job and show on the team's phone under the address, for example “Recurring Maintenance · 3 bed / 2 bath · 1,800 sq ft” with “+ Change Linens” underneath. The team does not have to remember who paid for what. Building your list in the first place is covered in Building a Cleaning Service List Your Estimates Can Pull From.

Adding Extras on Site

Customers often ask the team for something extra on the day: “Could you do the inside of the microwave while you're here?” Decide your policy ahead of time. Two common approaches:

Either way, the price comes from your service list, not from whatever the team thinks is fair. That keeps prices consistent across teams and customers.

Check your add-on prices against real times now and then. Ask a team to note how long the oven or the cabinets actually took on a few jobs. If an add-on routinely takes twice as long as the price assumes, the price is wrong, not the team. Adjust it on the service list, and every new estimate uses the corrected number from then on.

Offer Them Without Pushing

The best time to mention add-ons is when you are building the quote. A simple question works: “Would you like the inside of the oven or fridge done on the first visit?” Many customers say yes because they had not thought of it. Do not push extras on every call. A customer who feels upsold is less likely to book.

Before-and-after photos taken on the team's phone are a natural way to show what an add-on did. A photo of a clean oven interior makes the next customer more likely to say yes. For how add-ons fit with the rest of your estimates, visit the house cleaning estimate software page.
