One-Time Deep Cleans and Move-Outs in House Cleaning Software
Recurring clients keep a maid service steady, but one-time jobs fill the gaps and bring in new clients. A deep clean before a holiday, a move-out for a family leaving town, a post-construction clean after a remodel. These jobs pay well and take planning, and they need to fit next to your regular homes without throwing the week off.
One-Time Jobs Sit Next to the Recurring Ones
In Recurring Cleanings and the Waiting List: Where Every Job Lives, one-time requests waited on the map to be booked, while recurring clients keep fixed slots that are already on the schedule. In MaidBossPro, one-time jobs are booked from the Waiting List as single jobs and show on the same dispatch board as your recurring cleanings, so you see a team's full day in one place.
The One-Time Cleaning Types
Three of the six cleaning types in MaidBossPro are usually one-time work:
- Deep Clean. For a first visit, a seasonal clean, or a home that has not been cleaned in a while.
- Move-In / Move-Out. An empty home, ready for the next tenant or owner.
- Post-Construction. The fine dust and leftovers after builders or painters finish.
A Standard Clean can be one-time too, for a client who just wants a single visit. The type shows on the job and on the team's phone, so the team knows what kind of day the stop will be.
Quoting One-Time Jobs
Most one-time jobs start with an estimate. Build it from your own service list: a deep clean, a move-out, a post-construction clean, plus any add-ons such as inside oven, inside fridge, inside cabinets, interior windows or baseboards. Pricing can tie to bedrooms, bathrooms or square feet, which fits one-time work well because the size of the home drives the time.
For example, a company might price a move-out clean on a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home at $325, with $35 for the inside of the oven and $35 for the inside of the fridge. Whatever your numbers are, building them into the service list means every estimate starts from the same prices.
The client approves online, and the approved estimate becomes the scheduled job with its details already on it.
Fitting Them Into the Week
One-time jobs are usually longer than a maintenance clean. A few habits help:
- Give them their own block. Many companies put a deep clean or move-out first thing, when the team is fresh, and fill the rest of the day with shorter homes nearby.
- Watch the details line. “Move-In / Move-Out · 4 bed / 3 bath · 2,600 sq ft” on the dispatch board is a reminder that the day is heavy.
- Route around them. Use the map to pick recurring homes close to the one-time job.
- Send the right team. If one team handles your post-construction work, filter the board by that team.
Entry Notes for Empty Homes
Move-outs and post-construction jobs often have unusual access. The home may be empty, a realtor or property manager may have the key, utilities may be off, or a builder may still be on site. Use the entry notes to cover it: “Lockbox on the front door, code from property manager”, “Power is on, water is on”, “Contractor finishing the deck in the back, use the front door”.
Photos matter more on these jobs too. Before and after photos taken in the team app stay with the job, which helps if a landlord or a new owner asks what condition the home was left in.
Turning a One-Time Job Into a Recurring Client
Plenty of recurring clients start as a deep clean. After the first visit, it is natural to ask whether they would like to keep it that way every two weeks. If they say yes, add them on Recurring Cleanings with a fixed day, time and team. The details from the deep clean, such as beds, baths, pets, extras and the entry code, are already on the home, so they are copied onto every visit.
Choose 3, 6 or 12 months ahead, and every visit in that range goes straight onto the schedule and the team's app.
Property Managers and Repeat Move-Outs
Property managers can send a steady stream of move-out cleans. Each unit is its own address under one client, and the account can be set to Monthly so every move-out that month lands on one statement, each line labeled with the address. That is covered in Monthly Statements for Office Accounts: One Bill Covering Every Location.
Billing a One-Time Job
When the team taps Complete, the invoice is created with its line items and sales tax. If the client left a card on file through the sign-up form or the customer app, it can be charged right away. If not, they can pay online from the customer app, and past-due invoices get follow-up.
