House Cleaning Software FAQ: Straight Answers for Maid Service Owners

This last guide in the series collects the questions maid service owners ask most often about MaidBossPro. Each answer is short, with links where there is more to say.

Before You Choose

If you are still deciding, Mistakes Maid Service Owners Make When Choosing Software covers what to watch out for. Here are the most common questions from owners at that stage.

What is house cleaning software? One place for your clients, their homes, the cleanings you do and the payments for them. It schedules recurring work, gives your team their day on their phones, keeps clients informed and bills for each cleaning.

Is it worth it for a small company? If you spend time each week rebuilding schedules, re-sending codes or chasing invoices, yes. The same system works for one person and for several teams.

Can I try it first? Yes. There is a live demo you can click through, and a 14-day free trial with no credit card.

Homes and Scheduling

What details does each job hold? Cleaning type (Standard, Deep, Move-In / Move-Out, Post-Construction, Recurring Maintenance or Office / Commercial), bedrooms, bathrooms, square feet, pets, extras such as inside oven, inside fridge, baseboards, laundry or change linens, and entry notes such as lockbox or door code, alarm, rooms to skip and products to use.

Do I have to type those details every time? No. A new job at a home you have cleaned before fills in from its last job, with a note saying so.

How are recurring cleanings handled? As fixed slots: the same day, time and team. Add one on Recurring Cleanings and every visit for the next 3, 6 or 12 months goes straight onto the schedule. You can Change, Extend or Stop a series, or move one visit.

What about one-time deep cleans and move-outs? They wait on the Waiting List, often from an approved estimate, until booked, and show on the same dispatch board as your recurring homes.

Can it route my teams? Yes. The dispatch board shows jobs by day and team. You can auto-route Closest First or Furthest First from the office, set the order by hand, save views and print route sheets.

The Team and the Client

Do my cleaners need to download an app? No app store download. The team app runs in the browser on iPhone and Android and can be installed to the home screen. Cleaners use a company login and their own PIN.

What does the team app do? Shows the day's homes in route order with navigation, cleaning details, extras, entry notes and past notes on each card. Cleaners tap Start, Skip or Complete, take before and after photos, and clock in and out for the day, lunch and breaks. Team GPS shows on the office map.

What do clients see? A customer app with a live route map (“You're stop 12 of 20”), service requests, sign-ups, card updates, invoices and online payment, ratings and referrals. Before and after photos on past visits if you turn them on.

Does it text clients? Yes. Automated reminders and alerts go out by text and email: the night before, when they are next and when the team arrives, chosen by the client. Two-way texting lets the office answer replies in one place. See Texting and Alerts: Reminders, On-the-Way and Arrived Messages for Cleaning Clients.

How much texting is included? 500, 1,000 or 2,000 segments a month, sent and received, on Start, Pro and Crew. Texting is offered for clients in the US and Canada.

Quotes and Billing

Can clients approve estimates online? Yes. Build estimates from your own service list, with pricing tied to bedrooms, bathrooms or square feet. The client approves online and the estimate becomes the scheduled job, details included.

Can I take requests from my website? Yes. A request form and a sign-up form flow into Form Responses. A sign-up captures a card and converts to a client in one click.

How does billing work? When the team taps Complete, the invoice is created with line items and sales tax, and a card on file can be charged. Cards can also be charged on a schedule. Clients can pay online in the customer app, and past-due invoices get follow-up.

Can offices get one bill? Yes. An account set to Monthly gets one statement each month covering every location, each line labeled with the address.

Setup and Your Data

How do I bring my clients over? CSV import. Imported addresses are placed on the map automatically. Then add cleaning details to each home, starting with next week's.

Can I control who sees what? Yes. Office users get roles, and employees get PINs and team assignments.

Which countries does it work in? The US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK, billing clients in their own currency.

How long does setup take? Most companies can run real cleanings within the first week. See Setting Up House Cleaning Software in Your First Week.

Pricing and Next Steps

How much does it cost? Start is $59 a month, Pro is $89 and Crew is $199. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card needed.
